BOS 400 is a French barge that ran aground off Duiker Point near Sandy Bay while being towed by the Russian tugboat Tigr during a storm on June 26, 1994. The wreck is slowly disintegrating, but the large crane and part of the superstructure is visible above sea level. We approach the wreck from Rocket Road, a 2km flat gravel track, with stunning views of Sandy Bay and the back of the Karbonkelberg. The descent, however is steep, slippery and difficult in places.
This hike offers fantastic and unique opportunities for the perfect Instagram shot. Don't forget to bring your phone or camera!
